CULTURE: "In this Slow Food era, the grandest, most self-important home chefs talk in grand, self-important tones" - An interesting article that originally appeared in New York Magazine, proving when it comes to food, we just can't win.
FOOD: For those of you missing Asha Gomez's Cardamom Hill restaurant, check out the chef's restaurant Spice to Table in O4W. Better yet, make a taste of her famous southern meets indian food at home, with her version of a traditional hoecake (seriously, this looks delicious). Then make sure to pick up a copy of her new cookbook My Two Souths: Blending the Flavors of India into a Southern Kitchen.
DESIGN: The internet is going crazy over the announcement of Modern by Dwell Magazine for Target. The preview images look AMAHZING, with over 120 products to look forward to, and launching December 27th! Brace yourselves!
ART: The High Museum of Art has just launched a new event as of last month called First Fridays. The museum is calling the event "part art party, part happy hour." November's event (on 11/4) features a performance by the Atlanta Ballet, two gallery talks, drop in screen-printing with Indie Craft Experience and artist Broken Window Theory, as well as campaign button making just in time for Election Day. Free with admission or membership.
COVETING: Cuyana makes such amazing products under the motto, "Fewer, better things." They make gorgeous, simple pieces at a great price point, like this cashmere coat, which I am LITERALLY OBSESSED WITH. If anyone would like to gift me this for Christmas, I wear a size M!
